we are thinking of spending 4 to 5 weeks in arizona in january and february 2009.
where is the best weather at that time of the year and where would you suggest to stay.
we are both motorcyclists, so that has to come into play.
waiting for suggestions.

Hello

We went last year to Arizona for January and Feb. and it will be a long time before we go back the temperature was only in the mid 60F and in the morning it was below 40F . It just happened to be the worst weather lots of rain the desert was green and we even had snow in the mountains. We were in the Apache Junction area .We left march 1st to head towards Tuson for a Rally and it was even cool their coat weather. The 2 months we were their we went in the pool 2 times and we were with only a few other people in the pool.

We usually winter in the Valley in Texas we headed straight there March 7th and truley enjoyed the rest of the winter in Texas with warmer weather and lovey nights.

Hope this will help you p.s. lots go to yuma area they say it is much warmer .....some day we will try it

WE have spent the past 3 winters in Az. Both in Yuma and Apache Junction. Yes last winter was the coolest winter in many years and a some rain in late Jan and early Feb, maybe 2 in. total. Not sure what you want for temps. but Yuma is the warmest part of AZ. Jan. low 70s, Feb. Mid 70s to low 80s, March mostly in the 80s with and occasional low 90s thrown in. The Humi is normally very low, this may seem rather odd the easterners. Some complain it is to dry. The Yuma area is not a pretty desert, Apache Junction, Messa and the Gold Canyon area are in the Sonoran desert and is very pretty in Late Feb. thru April. Many, many different types of cactus that bloom in the late winter early spring. Yuma is only minutes from Mexico, the Apache Junction area is a couple hours drive to Mexico.

Hope this helps.

Kaddy, the best place in the winter to camp and play is in the Florida Keys. It is the farthest south you can drive in the continental United States. 70's in the daytime and mostly 60's at night.
